CHIPPENDALE PROJECTS IN THE 1980s

In 1980, Paul Chippendale had his own domestic joinery business. Through his wife Sue, who worked for the then Victoria Wines Company, he had the opportunity to complete some joinery work in a local branch. That one job led to an on-going contract at the retail chain. Chippendale Projects was formed to accommodate the increased workload.

GROWTH THROUGHOUT THE 1990s AND 2000s

Throughout the 90s Chippendale Projects steadily grew to become the main shop fitting and interiors fit-out contractors for Coral bookmakers, tasked with refurbishing and maintaining branches across the UK. After weathering the recession, the early 2000s saw increasing investment in machinery and premises, and eight years ago the company moved to a 5,000sq ft workshop space on Leeds busy Kirkstall Road.

Chippendale Projects Today

Chippendale Projects has now grown to 15 members of staff including shop fitting contractors and interior fit-out specialists, a fleet of seven vans, an onsite spray shop and an impressive range of machinery, which allows in-house manufacturing for almost all projects. Whilst Yorkshire and the North of England are still our key trading areas, we’ve undertaken projects from Swansea to Chertsey and we even get enquiries from as far as the North of Scotland.
